Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

In a world of so many voices and opinions it can become difficult to know which of them is right and true. My purpose today is to define and declare the true doctrine of Jesus Christ concerning our journey through life and in returning to live with God once more in heaven.

In our Articles of Faith as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we read: "We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel." (Article of Faith 1:3)

It is because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, his suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and his suffering and death on the cross that we can receive a remission of our sins. Christ taught his gospel to show us how we can be forgiven of our sins. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is comprised of five basic principles which are:

1. Faith in Jesus Christ
2. Repentance
3. Baptism
4. Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost
5. Enduring to the End
